Welling United’s youngsters eased into the second qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup with a comprehensive victory over Larkfield & New Hythe at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The young Wings brushed aside their opponents, but it took a while before the floodgates opened.
Nigel Nyako headed off the crossbar early on while Mecca Maxime Samuels force keeper Billy Henderson into a save and Antonio Morgan sent a stinging drive just wide.
But just before the half-hour mark, Welling finally broke the deadlock courtesy of David Kamara, who forced his way through the Larkfield defence before slamming home.
A second followed four minutes later when defender Joseph Freeman fired in a ferocious shot from just inside the box following a corner and a third was added just before the break when Samuels nodded home a rebound from close range following an initial shot
There was still time before the half-time whistle to add a fourth and it came in real style as Morgan plundered a stunner from 25 yards.
The young Wings continued their dominance after the break and they were soon 5-0 up five minutes after the restart.
It was another stunner, this time directly from a free-kick with Charlie Connell striking a perfectly-hit shot past Henderson as Welling began to truly run away with the tie.
Five soon became six when Nigel Nyako slid in to poke home another three minutes later, before Kamara secured his brace by skipping into the box and thundering a shot into the back of the net from 12 yards – the home side now seven goals to the good before the hour mark.
The home side could well have ended plenty more but for a number of missed chances, while sub Oliver Godziemski hit the post with 15 minutes remaining.
Welling now find themselves two wins away from the first round proper of the competition.
