Welling United will begin their London Senior Cup campaign with a first-round clash at New Salamis on Monday, October 30th (7.45pm).
The Wings will head to Coles Park, home of the Isthmian League North Division side where they groundhsare with Haringey Borough, with the winners set to take on either Cockfosters or Charlton Athletic U21s in the second round.
New Salamis are a side based in Bowes Park in north London and were formed in 1971 by fans of Cypriot club Nea Salamis Famagusta, with the Cyprus-based club acting as a parent club.
Last season saw the Wings reach the second round of the competition, beating Cray Valley (PM) in the first round to set up a clash with Charlton Athletic’s U21s at Park View Road in April which saw a youthful Wings side run the Addicks close, forcing a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout, ultimately losing out 4-2 on spot-kicks.
The game was originally scheduled to take place on October 2nd, but was re-arranged due to Welling’s FA Cup replay against Gosport Borough.
