The Wings hit the road on Tuesday evening as they head to the Beveree Stadium to take on Hampton & Richmond Borough for a second go at a clash with the Beavers following last Tuesday’s postponement (7.45pm).
Rod Stringer’s men will again be in confident mood after another impressive victory on Saturday, despatching of Weston-super-Mare with a 3-1 home win and will be looking to continue their good run of form.
Indeed, the clash in south-west London sees two of the most in-form teams in the league go head-to-head.
For the Wings’ part, their run of just one defeat in 11 games has seen them open up a gap of five points between themselves and the bottom four and will be eager to increase that cushion with just eight games of the season left to play.
THE OPPOSITION
The Beavers are firmly in the hunt for a play-off position come the end of the season and will have eye on a crack at promotion to the National League come May.
They currently sit in fourth with 19 wins, nine draws and nine defeats from their 37 games played, so far.
Hampton & Richmond come into the game six games unbeaten with five wins and a draw, with victories in their last three including a 2-1 away win over Hemel Hempstead Town at the weekend which saw them secure victory with a late penalty.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling United made it back-to-back wins as they claimed a heroic victory over Hampton & Richmond Borough with 10 men in the reverse fixture last month.
Despite falling behind in the first half, the hosts rallied in the second, levelling up through Adam Roscrow.
The Wings were reduced to 10 men shortly after when Tristan Abrahams was given his marching orders, but it mattered not as Lachlan Byrd’s header claimed all three points for Welling in new boss Rod Stringer’s first game in charge.
