Welling United kick-off the Easter weekend by welcoming Dover Athletic to the J Hearnden Skip Hire Stadium on Good Friday (3pm).
The Wings will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s loss at Chippenham Town in what was only their second defeat in 13 outings.
With six games remaining, the Wings sit four points above the bottom four in 18th position and will condemn their opponents to relegation should they avoid defeat.
THE OPPOSITION
Dover have endured a torrid season which has seen them rooted to the bottom of the National League South table, with relegation now looking a certainty as the campaign’s conclusion draws closer.
They are without a win in their last 10 outings, losing eight and drawing two and come into the game off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Farnborough last weekend.
Dover currently lie in 24th position with three wins, 14 draws and 23 defeats from their 40 games played, 17 points from safety with just 18 points left up for grabs. Relegation will be confirmed on Friday should they fail to claim three points, or if results elsewhere go against them, even if they do win.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling United were made to settle for a point after throwing away a two-goal lead at the death at Dover back in November.
A clinical first half saw Jephte Tanga and TJ Bramble find the net to put the Wings into a commanding two-goal lead at the midway point, before they were made to soak up some pressure in the second half with the hosts pulling one back soon after the restart.
But just as it looked like they would hold on for all three points, a 98th-minute strike condemned Welling to a fourth straight draw and a solitary point.
