• Wings Bar and marquee have received extensive overhaul
• Happy hour between 12pm-1pm
• Wider selection of drinks on offer including real ale and cider
• Free easter eggs for young supporters
Following an extensive overhaul, the club’s new-look bar facilities will receive its grand re-opening for Welling United’s clash with Dover Athletic at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium on Good Friday.
Following recent feedback from fans, the club have been keen to respond to ensure that Wings supporters can get the best of what is on offer within the stadium on matchdays and have taken steps to ensure that the club’s facilities can be fully enjoyed by all.
Turnstiles will open early at 12pm on Friday and supporters will be able to enjoy Happy Hour between 12pm – 1pm with £1 off all pints, while young supporters, with an accompanying adult, will be able to claim a free easter egg* on arrival before 1pm.
As well as extensive decorative and functional improvements to the marquee and Wings Bar, two new dart boards are now in place which are free to use for all supporters.
Televisions around the bars will now show a selection of sport on offer, while a wider variety of alcoholic drinks will now be on offer to cater to all tastes.
A new partnership with Lilley’s Cider will see a selection of still and sparkling cider available in a variety of fruity flavours, while real ale fans will be pleased to know that Bexley Brewery will now be supplying a selection of ales.
Meanwhile, Carling and Madri will also be available from the marquee bar, alongside cider.
The upstairs bar, Wings Bar and marquee will all be open both before and after the game, until late.
With ever-increasing costs effecting clubs, Welling United relies on its loyal supporters to help in whatever way they can beyond the cost of match tickets by choosing to eat, drink and spend more time in the stadium on matchdays.
Equally, the club recognises that it must offer desirable facilities and choice for supporters and will continue to listen to any feedback, working alongside fans to make the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium a place where people want to spend their Saturdays beyond the 90 minutes of football, before and after the game.
If you have any suggestions or requests for what you want to see from the bar facilities on matchdays, please email secretary@wellingunited.com.
*Easter eggs will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis while stocks last.
