Welling United round-up their season on home turf on Saturday as they host Weymouth at the J Hearnden Skip Hire Community Stadium (3pm).
Victory for the Wings would mathematically guarantee safety this weekend with a game to spare and Rod Stringer’s men will be gunning to get the job done in from of the Park View Road faithful.
Welling could also seal their survival no matter the result in DA16 should Eastbourne Borough lose their fixture at home to Chippenham Town.
The Wings come into the game in 15th place in National League South following Wednesday’s goalless draw at Havant & Waterlooville – their highest league position all season.
THE OPPOSITION
Following last season’s great escape, Weymouth have enjoyed the relative safety of mid-table throughout 2023/24.
The Terras come to Welling in 16th place in the league table, one place below the Wings having played two games less, amassing 12 wins, 15 draws and 15 defeats.
They come into the weekend off the back of back-to-back defeats to Eastbourne and Maidstone United.
LAST TIME OUT
Welling United secured a third consecutive draw as they came from behind to share the spoils with Weymouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium in the reverse fixture back in November.
After a mix-up at the back gifted the hosts the lead just before the break, the Wings rallied in the second half and bagged a leveller courtesy of the in-form Kain Adom to ensure a point would head back home to south London.
