Welling United return to league action as they host Weston-super-Mare at Park View Road on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The Wings are well rested after a free weekend, before a morale-boosting 3-0 victory at Sporting Bengal United on Wednesday evening allowed players to get vital minutes under their belts.

Of those who played their part in the East End in midweek, new arrivals Paul Osew, Alex Lankshear and Mitchel Bergkamp all made their debuts for the club, while Daniel Martin and Chiori Johnson both made a return from injury from the bench.

They will be hoping to be involved on Saturday, although Harvey Walker, Zain Walker, Ben Wells and TJ Bramble will remain sidelined.

Meanwhile, Teddy Perkins will be assessed after picking up a knock in midweek.

THE OPPOSITION

Weston have enjoyed a bright start to the new season, currently sitting in fourth position in Vanarama National League South with five wins, two draws and two defeats from their nine league games, so far.

After losing their first two, they have since embarked on a run of 10 games unbeaten.

LAST TIME OUT

Welling late show bagged three points from a 3-1 victory over Weston-super-Mare the last time the sides met at Park View Road back in March.

Sonny Fish’s strike put the Wings ahead in the first half, before being pegged back by a leveller 14 minutes from time. But two goals in injury-time courtesy of Antony Papadopoulos and David Amoo on his debut ensured a dramatic victory.
