Welling hit the road again on Saturday as they head to the Bob Lucas Stadium to take on Weymouth (3pm).

The Wings will face their second consecutive away game after the midweek home clash with Hemel Hempstead Town was postponed and, after a truly-impressive 4-1 away victory at Weston-super-Mare last weekend, the they will be looking to build on that positivity with another three points against the Tudors on home turf.

Rod Stringer’s side has been invigorated with the arrival of the ‘Eastbourne four’, with James Alabi, Jayden Davis, Finn Ballard-McBride and Dan Quick all enjoying eye-catching debuts at the weekend.

Rhys Lovett will continue to be sidelined, while the game will likely come too soon for Harvey Walker, who is drawing ever nearer to a return to action.

THE OPPOSITION

The Terras have found themselves embroiled in a relegation fight this season and they come into the game occupying bottom spot in Vanarama National League South, 14 points adrift from safety.

Their league position prompted a change in the dugout at the end of November with Mark Molesley relieved of his duties as former Welling boss Warren Feeney was brought in, tasked with steering Weymouth to survival.

However, they have yet to turn their fortunes around and are currently on a run of 15 league games without a victory, losing five of their last six outings, including a 2-0 defeat at Hampton & Richmond in midweek.

They will be without the suspended Tom Bearwish and Calvin Brooks following their dismissals in recent meetings with Maidstone United and Enfield Town respectively.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wings earned a 2-1 win over Weymouth at Park View Road when the two sides met in the reverse fixture in early January.

Goals either side of the break courtesy of Riccardo Di Trolio and Zain Walker were enough for the Wings to claim their first three points of 2025 and make it an unhappy return to DA16 for former Welling boss Warren Feeney, despite a consolation strike in the 90th minute.
