Welling United will be looking to return to winning ways as they host Slough Town at Park View Road on Saturday (3pm).
After six league games without tasting victory, the Wings will be aiming to secure all three points at home to ease relegation concerns as the run-in approaches, with Rod Stringer’s men sitting precariously above the bottom four heading into the weekend.
Welling will be hoping for Gene Kennedy to make a return to action after he missed out on the midweek defeat at Tonbridge Angels win a knock picked up at Chippenham Town last weekend, while Dan Martin remains a doubt.
Chiori Johnson, meanwhile, is expected to remain sidelined with injury.
THE OPPOSITION
Slough currently six in sixth position in Vanarama National League South with 11 wins, nine draws and 15 defeats from their 35 games played, so far.
They come into the game off the back of back-to-back defeats having been beaten 2-0 at Truro City last weekend, before suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Chippenham Town in midweek.
LAST TIME OUT
The Wings claimed all three points with an impressive 3-2 victory at Slough in the reverse fixture in November.
After racing into a three-goal lead thanks to the goals of Josh Redfearn, Gene Kennedy and Chiori Johnson, the Wings were made to sweat for their win with the hosts pulling two goals back with plenty of time to spare.
But an excellent defensive performance, coupled with some expert game management saw them walk away with victory.
