Wings fan Brian Coates has been honoured with the Eric Brackstone Volunteer of the Year award in recognition of his continued hard work, selflessly giving up his time to help clear and tidy the stadium and offering a helping hand wherever possible.
The annual award recognises an individual who has gone the extra mile for the club on a volunteer basis and Brian has epitomised the loyalty of the Welling United faithful with his work in recent years.
Matt Mein, club Director and Chair of WUSA, said: “Brian has been such an outstanding volunteer and we’re very pleased to give him the Eric Brackstone award for all of the work he does during the week when no one else is around to see it.
”He works tirelessly to make sure the ground is tidy and clears out all the weeds that constantly appear on the terraces.
”A huge thanks to Brian, on behalf of the club, for everything he has done. He’s a thoroughly deserved winner.”
