Saturday’s ‘pink’ matchday at Park View Road, in partnership with Bexley Wellbeing Partnership and in aid of breast and prostate cancer awareness, will see all fundraising proceeds be dedicated to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice.

The Isthmian League Premier Division fixture against Cray Wanderers will see will see Park View Road turn pink as the Wings show their support for two causes that affect so many families within our community and beyond.

On the day of the match, the Wings will take to the field in a one-off pink and blue strip, produced in collaboration with kit manufacturers HOPE + GLORY and as voted for by supporters.

Proceeds from the sales of the shirts will go Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice, while Welling’s matchworn shirts will be auctioned off to raise further funds for the cause.

There will also be collections on the day with supporters encouraged to donate, while donations can also be made to Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice by clicking here.

Bexley Wellbeing Partnership’s Community Voice Manager, Patrick Gray, said: “Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is the perfect charity partner for the Wear it Pink event as the hospice was created in 1985 when friends Pat Jeavons and Don Sturrock, who were living with cancer, recognised the need for a hospice for the people of Greenwich and Bexley. Now one of 17 member organisations that make up Bexley Wellbeing Partnership, the Hospice is there to support those living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.

“Saturday’s event builds on a successful partnership last season and underlines the commitment of Bexley Wellbeing Partnership to bring information on important health and wellbeing services to communities and highlight issues that are important to Welling United fans such as the importance of cancer screening, awareness of mental health support in the area and information about other health issues such as diabetes and hypertension.

“There will be a variety of services present on the day to give information and support to fans to help with their own health and wellbeing.”
