Welling United return to action under the lights at Park View Road on Tuesday evening with Dover Athletic making the journey across Kent. 

The Wings are unbeaten in six games in all competitions and will be hoping to extend their good run of form against the recently-relegated Whites.

Warren Feeney’s men sit in fourth position going into the game following Saturday’s 2-2 draw with unbeaten Havant & Waterlooville, but could well have been celebrating all three points had it not been for a late Hawks equaliser. 

THE OPPOSITION
Andy Hessenthaler’s side were relegated from the Vanarama National League last term following a difficult season and a points deduction and returned to the sixth tier for the first time since 2015. 

After a run of four straight defeats, including being knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Ebbsfleet United, the Whites picked up on Saturday with a 2-0 win at struggling Weymouth. 

They come to Park View Road sat in 16th position in the league with 10 points from their nnee games played, with three wins, one draw and five defeats.

Warren Feeney: “They’re all tough games. When you’re in a position like we are at the minute, teams want to come and beat you. 

“We respect everyone and we’ll do our homework on them. I know Andy [Hessenthaler] well, he’s a good guy, and one thing I know he’ll be doing is have his players fired up because that’s how he was as a player.”

Dover assistant, Mike Sandmann: “No-one wants to lose football matches at all, but the manager is confident we will start to get that consistency. Saturday was a massive step in the right direction.

“Tomorrow night will not be easy. It’s a difficult game against a good side but we are a good side as well.”

REF WATCH 
Jack Packman will be the man in the middle on Tuesday evening. It will be his third National League South game this term, producing six yellow cards, so far, and no reds. 

He last took charge of the Wings for the 2-2 draw at Braintree Town in January and will be assisted by Billy Woods and Daniel Blades.
